Unexpected Act of Kindness

As I sat eating my homemade pizza alone on Christmas Eve, the doorbell rang.
Not expecting any guests, I wondered who it could be.
I opened the door to see 3 young women standing on my doorstep.
They asked me if I was who they thought I was
and I confirmed that I indeed was.
They then proceeded to hand me a plateful of treats
and they sang Silent Night to me.
(How they knew that's my favorite Christmas song is beyond me)
It turns out they know someone from my hometown who asked them to come by and see me.
It may not seem like much, but it meant alot to me.
I even smiled for a few moments.
Who needs a pile of presents
when you can make someone's day by showing some kindness?

Ter, was just coming online because I was thinking of you and wondering if you were spending the holidays with family or by yourself. Glad to see that someone sent over some kindness and DELICIOUSNESS! Thinking of you in New Jersey!
