Word of the Year 2010: Year-End Report

In January, I posted that my Word of the Year for 2010 was "Thrive".

With the year coming to an end,
I thought I'd post a little bit about how that word worked for me.

Whenever I was having a tough time, I would remind myself to "Thrive".
Just thinking of the word would prevent complete meltdowns.
Well... most of the time!

It encouraged me
to progress toward or realize a goal despite or because of circumstances

In 2010, I took some steps towards "normal" again.
It was very difficult but with the word 'Thrive" on my mind, I kept working at it.

It may seem silly to think a single word can really be that motivating but it is.
And while I know I did not accomplish all I set out to,
I think I made steps in the right direction.

Overall, "Thrive" was a good word for me for 2010.
Next week, I will post about my Word of the Year for 2011.

Did you have a Word of the Year in 2010?
Have you chosen one for 2011?

I have thought of you and "thrive" so much this year. And all that progress coke-free--amazing! :) (I am another sporadic addict, so I feel your elation at your success!) Hang in there and looking forward to 2011...
